Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the significance of US President Joe Biden's visit earlier in the day in his nightly video address on Monday saying that the two agreed that Russia must be defeated in 2023.
According to Zelenskyy he had talked with President Biden about how to do everything to ensure common victory this year in the war that Russia unleashed.
He added that the defense needs of Ukraine are known and he thanked his us ally for their support.
President Biden swept unannounced into ukraine earlier on monday to meet with Ukrainian leader in a defiant display of western solidarity with a country still fighting what he called a brutal and unjust war days before the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion
Biden spent more than five hours in the Ukrainian capital consulting with Zelenskyy on next steps honoring the country’s fallen soldiers and seeing us embassy staff in the besieged country.
