At least three people were killed and over two hundred others were injured in a new six point four magnitude earthquake in parts of Hatay Province, Turkiye on Monday. Earthquake was centred in the town of defne in Turkey’s Hatay Province one the worst-hit regions in the magnitude seven point eight quake that struck on February 6.
More buildings collapsed trapping some people while scores of injuries were recorded in neighbouring countries. It was felt in Syria Yordan, Cyprus, Israel and as far away as Egypt some aftershocks were also recorded.
Turkish interior minister said so far three people were killed and two hundred thirteen were injured. Meanwhile search and rescue efforts were underway in three collapsed buildings where six people were believed to be trapped.
