Hundreds in Berlin Pray for Turkey Earthquake Victims

Hundreds of members of berlin’s Turkish and Syrian communities gathered at Brandenburg gate on Wednesday to say prayers for the victims of last week’s earthquakes, that killed over forty-one thousand people.

Members of the Muslim community led prayers and thanked the German volunteers, who flew out to help with rescue efforts last week.

Moments of silence were held for the victims, many of whom are still trapped under rubble with the number of injured now estimated to be well over one hundred thousand.

German President Frank Walter Steinmeier is set to give a speech at a memorial service in front of the Brandenburg gate on Monday.
